Brickish Display at the Games Shop's first birthday celebration event

A Brickish display in Aldershot, Hampshire

On the 3rd of July, the Games Shop in Aldershot (owned and run by Brickish member and entrepreneur Rhys Knight); played host to a sizeable display of Brickish members' work as part of events to mark its' first year of business.

There was a vide variety of models on public show, from a massive castle to a lifesize Lego sculpture of Jango Fett (from Star Wars).

Father's day shopping extravaganza

AFOLS hit the LEGO shops to buy their own Father's day presents.

Brickish members descended on the LEGO shops at Milton Keynes, Bluewater & Brighton to buy their own Father's day presents. They received a special discount and didn't have to prove they were fathers. Hopefully there will be several more similar events before Mother's day. All we need now if for LEGO to open a shop in the northern half of the UK. Thanks to Julie for organising it.



Lego Train Show at Bucks Rail Centre; a great success!

A new Adult Fans of Lego display where the model trains ran beside their full size counterparts!

The first display by Adult Fans of Lego at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, on the 5th and 6th June, was an all-round success with positive feedback from all. It was a part of their World in Miniature weekend event. We are planning to return next year and to make this an annual event.

The next display is a joint layout at the Alresford Festival of Toy Trains, in Hampshire, on the 26th June.

5 minute model building instructionsFollowing Simon Bennett's appearance on the BBC Breakfast show on Friday 25th January, several other Brickish members have been interviewed for TV and radio to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the LEGO system of play.

In response to requests, Building instructions for 5-minute models have been made available here which show you how to build some of the smaller models we have created and talked about during our interviews.

Simon was interviewed as well as challenged to build a custom model during the show and he built a miniature version of the TV studio! The show coincided with the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the LEGO system of play.

Following an article on the BBC website which included some comments from the Brickish Association's Chairman, Tony Priestman, there has been a spree of radio interviews for other association members.

On the evening of the 13th of April, Duncan Titmarsh was interviewed for BBC Radio Kent's drive show. Then on the morning of the 14th of April, Jon Reynolds spoke to Anne Diamond on BBC Radio Oxford, and a few hours later appeared on ABC Local Radio in Western Australia. Jon was also interviewed for ABC Radio Canberra on the 17th of April (the 18th, Australian time). The Brickish Association - an organisation with international appeal!
